Program

“Inquiry into dreams and sleep and our experience during or around these

states can help to clarify some of our problems.” (1.38)

Patanjali’s sutras are meant to guide yoga practice. Sutra 1.38 specifically mentions the exploration of dreams as key to learning more about yourself and, therefore, to the practice of yoga.

Broadly speaking, dreams are stories emerging from the dreamscape of our inner wisdom. They come to us as night dreams, waking visions and/or intuitions. Messages from these imaginal states are expressed in a distinctive language: images, metaphors, archetypes, shapes, colors, sounds, emotions, as well as synchronicities.

Dictionaries define dreams as a doorway, a threshold,

or a bridge providing access to information of a specific kind.

A critical compass to locate messages in the dream process is the body. The ancient practice of yoga nidra assists in deep relaxation so we can feel our body’s interaction. Taken together, the patterns and themes from the dreamscape are part of one, wholistic experience conveyed by our inner wisdom.

This program includes the participation in Dream Circle, a private, non-therapeutic group. The program’s Dream Circle presents a safe, supportive deep listening approach to shared dreams. Like the focus on breathing and the inner alignment of hatha yoga, dreams offer us a way to foster wakefulness.

Learning Objectives:

  • Enhance dream exploration with body awareness, deep breathing and meditations.

  • Learn your style of dreaming. Dreams are not one size fits all.

  • Appreciate the unique symbology and figurative language of your dreams.

  • Dream Circles. What are they and how do they help your inner exploration?

Benefits:

  • Experience refreshing, personal clarity with deep listening.

  • Relax to go deeper.

  • Let go of the looping internal dialog to reduce stress.

  • Nurture your inner core with sensations of wonder and awe.

No experience necessary. Keeping a journal of dreams or muses is recommended. You are welcome to email me if you have program questions.
